The Rogers Documentary and Cable Fund has doled out around $4.7 million to 14 TV projects, including new seasons of Blackstone, Call Me Fitz and upcoming series Orphan Black and Yukon Gold, in its latest round of funding.
The third season of Blackstone, from Blackstone Productions for APTN and fourth season of Call Me Fitz, from 8175730 Canada Inc. for Movie Central and TMN are amongst the drama series receiving support this round.
Also receiving funding is upcoming drama Orphan Black from Orphan Black Productions Ltd. for Space and BBC America.
On the factual side, Discovery series Close Encounters from Newroad Media Inc. and Shred It from YAP Shred Productions received support this round.
And for History Television, Bomb Hunters 2 from Pixcom Productions Inc. and Klondike Productions Inc.’s Yukon Gold were also selected.
Museum Media Season III Inc.’s Museum Secrets season three for History Television, Historia and UKTV and Treasures Investigations Inc.’s Treasures Decoded for History Television and History Television are also among the recipients for this round of funding.
Elsewhere, Funny Jews Inc.’s When Jews Were Funny for Super Channel, The Liquidator season two from The Liquidator II Productions Inc. for OLN, The Shaw Festival from Forevergreen Television and Film Productions INc. for Biography Channel and WNED and March to the Top from March to the Top Productions (Muse) Inc. for CBC’s documentary will also receive an equity investment.
