Cineflix Rights has veteran U.K. acquisitions executive Noel Hedges to beat the bush for more third party acquisitions to drive down the distribution pipeline.

Hedges, most recently senior vice president of acquisition at Shine International, will hold the same title at Cineflix’s U.K. distribution operation.

Hedges, who also worked as senior vice president of sales and acquisitions for the Americas at ITV Studios – Global Entertainment, based in Los Angeles, will join Cineflix Rights in September and report to Chris Bonney, CEO of Rights, Cineflix Media.

“I’m tremendously excited to be joining Cineflix Rights, a company which has a great reputation with both broadcaster and producer clients,” Hedges, who began his career at the BBC, said in a statement Thursday.

Cineflix Rights’ has adopted a strategy of expanding its third party catalogue of scripted, formatted and factual content.

Hedges coming on board at Cineflix Rights follows the exit in April 2012 of Paul Heaney as president and managing director of the operation.
