Don Carmody’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D secures U.S. release

Don Carmody’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is due for a Halloween stateside release after Open Road Films acquired all U.S. distribution rights to the Silent Hill franchise sequel.

The follow-up to the 2006 video game movie Silent Hill, which was produced in and around Toronto by Carmody and Samuel Hadida’s Davis Films, will be released wide on October 26, 2012.

Open Road Films is run by CEO Tom Ortenberg, a former Lionsgate Films president.

Alliance Films is releasing domestically Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, a France-Canada co-production, with Lionsgate handling international sales.

The sequel stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger, Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington, and is based on a screenplay by director Michael Bassett.
