Bell Media is doubling down on fantasy dramas from British producer Impossible Pictures for its Space channel.
First the U.K. series Primeval (pictured) from Impossible Pictures did so well on Space, Bell Media ordered a 13-part Canadian-made spinoff, Primeval: New World, from Omni Film Productions.
The one-hour scripted adventure series, that diverges from the popular British series with new Canadian characters and storylines from Canadian writers, will debut on Space in fall 2012.
And now Bell Media has pre-bought from BBC Worldwide the Sinbad fantasy drama from Impossible Pictures for Space.
Bell Media ordered 13 one-hours of the series, which was also pre-sold to Canal+ in France.
Sinbad was earlier picked up by Sky 1 in the U.K., and is produced by Tim Haines, Sophie Gardiner and Andrew Woodhead for Impossible Pictures and Elwen Rowlands for Sky.
No word from Space on when Sinbad will bow in Canada.
Sky 1 HD plans a July 2012 premiere in the U.K.
