Cineflix Media hires Lisa Levenson in Los Angeles

Veteran reality TV showrunner Lisa Levenson is launching a Los Angeles office for Cineflix Media.

The Canadian producer, which already has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, New York City and London, will have Levenson ramp up its presence in Los Angeles as EVP of programming.

“What’s going to happen is we’re bringing Cineflix creative talent from all corners of the globe together and pow-wowing in Los Angeles and organizing where the TV might work, and how we could change it and revamp it for a specific network,” Levenson told Playback Daily about how the Canadian producer can shop and develop its formats in Los Angeles.

Levenson said her job will be made easier by Cineflix having already developed a reputation for high-quality content on the east coast and in the UK.

Her hire follows Cineflix earlier bringing ex-CBC exec Sally Catto on board as EVP of Cineflix Studios, Vlad Wolynetz as president of production, and Camilla Lewis as managing director of Cineflix Productions UK.

Levenson joins Cineflix from Warner Horizon Television where she held an overall production and development deal.

She also had an earlier multi-year, overall deal with Next Entertainment, where she executive produced fourteen cycles of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

Levenson also executive produced High School Reunion, The Real Gilligan’s Island and Trista and Ryan’s Wedding.

Levenson said Cineflix should be up and running with a Los Angeles office by next week.
