Travis Williams has left his production executive post at Teletoon to head up the development team at Ottawa-based Mercury Filmworks.
As director of development for the production services house, Williams will work with chief creative officer Jerry Popowich on the development slate in servicing and coproduction, dealing directly with writers, designers and creators.
“Travis […] has a critical eye, an appreciation for detail, and is as uncompromising in his passion for creating standout shows as we are,” said Mercury president Clint Eland in a statement. “He also understands the definition of a successfully developed property – which is a perspective unique to someone who’s been a production executive at a major network.”
Williams spent seven years at Teletoon, where he helmed development and production of several series including Jimmy Two-Shoes, Total Drama Island and Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.
