Hot on the heels of forming a new Canadian multi-platform distribution company, Pacific Northwest Pictures (PNP), Hollywood producer Zanne Devine is pacting with Michael Taylor’s Multiple Media Entertainment (MME) to launch Cross Country Entertainment (CCE).
The new Vancouver-based company will acquire all rights for filmed entertainment, including theatrical, digital, TV and ancillary rights, and will release movie product through its distribution arm, Cross Country Releasing.
CCE will be run by co-presidents Michael Taylor, who is also CEO of MME, and Devine, president of PNP.
Jennifer Graham, senior vice president of sales and acquisitions at MME, based in Toronto, will also serve as Cross Country Releaseing’s vice president of sales and acquisitions.
And Emily Alden, who runs PNP as vice president of development and production, also becomes CCE’s vice president of development and production, based in Vancouver.
Devine is originally from Toronto and established in Los Angeles as a film producer, with credits that include the 2010 Screen Gems comedy Easy A, starring Emma Stone and Stanley Tucci, and HBO Films’ Cinema Verite, which she executive produced.
“We are thrilled to be in business with Michael, Drew and Jennifer,” Devine said in a statement.
“This is an ideal pooling of our resources for production and distribution purposes. With our feature film background and Michael and Drew’s extensive television experience, we will have all of the major platforms covered,” she added.
The first products to emerge from CCE include Charlie Zone, the Amanda Crew-starring thriller from director Michael Melski, currently in post-production, and director Mateo Guez’ Off World, which opened the 2010 Reel World International Film Festival.
