After serving as a co-producer on NBC’s Outsourced, Canuck screenwriter Vera Santamaria will be stepping into a producer’s role for the third season of Community.

The American net’s primetime comedy follows a group of misfits at a community college and stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase, to name a few.

“Community is so inventive, original and funny. There’s nothing else like it on TV and I’m thrilled to be joining the staff of such an iconic show,” Santamaria said in a statement.

Her long list of credits include Little Mosque on the Prairie and Degrassi: The Next Generation, and she’s also the co-creator/executive producer of live-action comedy How To Be Indie.

Santamaria is repped by Meridian Artists and ICM.
