Faibish joins CBC while Anderson takes over digi at CTV

Former head of CTV’s digital media division Kris Faibish has joined the CBC in the newly-created post of executive director, strategy and business development.

Faibish will report to Neil McEneaney, executive director, finance and strategy, and oversee the development of CBC English Services’ strategy.

Her brief will be raising revenues at the same time as the CBC broadens its content offerings as a cross-platform broadcaster and distributor.

“This is really a fantastic initiative on the part of the CBC,” Faibish said in a statement.

“Reaching across the network to collaborate and leverage content, programming and platforms for CBC’s television, radio and digital audiences is a tremendous opportunity, one which will result in an even better competitive and innovative offering across all platforms for audiences coast to coast right down to the local neighborhood level,” she added.

Meanwhile, back at CTV, Bell’s Sympatico guru Gary Anderson is heading up digital media in a sign the phone giant is keen on its new Bell Media property becoming a cross-platform player.
