Jeremy Podeswa dominates TV movie and miniseries category at DGA Awards

Thanks to Canadian filmmaker Jeremy Podeswa, HBO’s The Pacific will dominate the outstanding TV movie and miniseries category at the upcoming Directors Guild of America Awards.

The DGA, which announced nominations Tuesday, gave two nods to Podeswa in the TV movie and miniseries categories in 2010 for two episodes of The Pacific that he lensed.

Podeswa shared one directorial nomination with David Nutter for the The Pacific: Basilone episode, while receiving another nomination for his work on The Pacific: Home episode.

These are Podeswa’s first DGA nominations.

The Canadian director will go up against colleague Tim Van Patten for his work on The Pacific: Okinawa episode, Mick Jackson, who received a nod for his work on HBO’s Temple Grandin, and Barry Levinson for directing HBO’s You Don’t Know Jack.

The 63rd annual DGA Awards show will be held on Saturday, January 29 in Los Angeles.
