Soon to leaving the world of Team Edward behind, Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga) is slated to take the lead role in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, a spokesperson for the renowned Canuck director confirmed with Playback Daily yesterday.

The film is an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel written by Cronenberg that he’s also set to direct. Pattinson is on deck to play the role of Eric Packer in this capitalist drama that takes place in the not too distant future.

Pattinson is repped by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment and 3 Arts Entertainment in Beverly Hills. Cronenberg is also repped by WME.
