Production begins on Mr. Young

The cameras have started rolling in Vancouver on Mr.Young, a new sitcom from B.C.-based Thunderbird Films and Corus Entertainment.

The multi-camera series was announced earlier this summer and is on track for a Canuck release on kidcaster YTV.

Created by Dan Signer (writer and producer of Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck), Mr. Young – played by Brendan Meyer (Tooth Fairy, Dinosapien) – follows the story of a 14-year-old college grad-cum-high school science teacher. It also stars Matreya Fedor (The Troop, Supernatural), Gig Morton (Shattered, Fear Itself), Kurt Ostlund (The Troop), Emily Tennant (Juno, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Anna Galvin (Smallville, SGU: Stargate Universe) and Raugi Yu (jpod, Intelligence).

Howard Nemetz (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) is on board as co-executive writer-producer, along with director Adam Weissman (iCarly) and producer Alex Raffe (Zigby, Zixx: Level Two & Three).

Nelvana Enterprises will serve as international distribution agent, and Nelvana and Thunderbird will co-distribute the series in the U.S.
