Indie producer Proper Television is to produce Tabloid History, a cheeky look at world historical figures, for History Television Canada.

And Canada’s Worst Driver producer Proper will also produce for TVTropolis, Car Off A Cliff, where three drivers compete to determine who has the worst car.

The prize for the 13 half-hour TVTropolis series: a new car.

Tabloid History is also 13 x 30-minutes as it offers bite-size profiles of Henry VIII, Cleopatra and Napoleon, historical figures deserving of celebrity treatment.

Both new Canadian factual series will be shopped at MIPCOM.

“We’re not sitting on our laurels,” says Proper Television president, Guy O’Sullivan.

“This is our best development slate yet. Each and every show packs an unusually entertaining punch for factual TV,” he added in a statement.
