KO Distribution acquires seven titles for sales slate

The acquisitions include five series, one feature film and a documentary.

KO Distribution is heading to MIPCOM with seven newly acquired titles this October.

The acquisitions include a combination of five series, both new and returning, one feature film and a documentary.

The new series leading off the slate is the Pamplemousse Media-produced Veille sur moi (Watch Over Me; pictured). The 6 x 60-minute family drama follows a grandmother and her four-year-old grandson whose lives are turned upside-down when the grandson’s mother, who abandoned him three-years earlier, returns to take him back.

The second new series on the slate is Jumelage Productions’ Playing Both Sides. In this 12 x 30-minute police procedural comedy, two out-of-work North African actors are hired to be a part of a secret undercover division.

For returning series, KO Distribution has acquired the 35 x 7-minute About Sex and the 35 x 2-minute About Mental Health, both produced by Echo Media. The two educational series respectively explore sex and mental health for teenagers.

Also on the slate is En direct de l’univers (The Soundtrack of my Life). The unscripted variety show, currently on its 16th season, is produced by Attraction with show host France Beaudoin as associate producer. Each week, a well-known guest explores their life through their relation to music along with performances from their favourite artists.

KO Distribution is bringing the Azimut Films and KO24-produced thriller Lucy Grizzli Sophie. The film follows a woman who, after being stalked and traumatized, seeks refuge at a rural B&B.

Rounding out KO Distribution’s MIPCOM slate is La piqûre de la minceur (The Miracle Shot?). This Lustitia Productions in collaboration with Bell Media documentary takes a look at the weight-loss induced craze for appetite-suppressant drugs such as Ozempic.

MIPCOM takes place in Cannes, France from Oct. 21 to Oct. 24.
