Bell Media inks development deal with Tom Green’s prodco

The pact will cover both scripted and unscripted projects.

Bell Media has penned a co-development deal with actor, director and comedian Tom Green’s production shingle to create original content for Crave and CTV.

The deal between the mediaco and Tom Green Productions Canada covers both scripted and unscripted projects. Green’s manager, Rory Rosegarten, will serve as executive producer on all projects, according to a release.

The prodco launched three projects via Prime Video in January: the feature This is the Tom Green Documentary, coproduced with Jack Turner and Leah Culton Gonzalez from Boat Rocker subsidiary Matador Content; the comedy special Tom Green: I Got a Mule!; and the unscripted series Tom Green Country.

Green also has a co-starring role on the Crave original comedy series The Trades (Trailer Park Boys, Kontent House), which will have its second season premiere on March 14.

“We look forward to embarking on this new journey together as we develop dynamic projects and expand Bell Media’s mandate of making great original content that resonates at home, and abroad,” said Stewart Johnston, Bell Media SVP, content and sales, in a statement.

Bell Media’s deal follows its recent scripted series development deal with Elliot Page’s Pageboy Productions in January. In December 2024, Bell Media and Lionsgate signed a co-development deal for scripted series with Point Grey Pictures, run by Vancouver-born creatives Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
