Love Nature ups Alison Barrat to SVP, head of content

Barrat is tasked with creating new copro opportunities for Blue Ant's wildlife and nature channel.

Wildlife and nature channel operator Love Nature has elevated Alison Barrat to the role of SVP, head of content for the brand.

In her new position, Barrat (pictured) will lead Love Nature’s global content strategy across original commissioning, acquisitions, programming and marketing to support growing the Blue Ant Media-owned brand’s global reach with affiliate partners around the world.

Based in Love Nature’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., Barrat is also tasked with generating new coproduction opportunities with platform partners to further enhance the platform’s output of original productions in line with its content strategy for wildlife and nature content.

Barrat will continue to oversee all development and production for Love Nature and will continue reporting to Carlyn Staudt, who was recently promoted to the newly created role of EVP, global channels and streaming for Blue Ant Media and now leads the growth of the company’s portfolio of international channels. Commissioning editor James Manfull and executive producer Katie Murdock will continue to report to Barrat.

Previously as SVP of production and development, Barrat held a leading role in finding, developing and commissioning new projects. Prior to joining Love Nature, Barrat launched a specialist wildlife film production unit at the Living Oceans Foundation where she executive produced films for PBS, the Smithsonian Channel and Curiosity Stream.
