The French-language channel Canal Vie has acquired Telle Mère, Telle Fille, a Quebec adaptation of Like Mother, Like Daughter? to its 2025 lineup. Filming will begin this fall, following an agreement negotiated with Banijay Rights, the global distribution division of Banijay Entertainment.
The original format was developed and produced by Banijay Bunim/Murray Productions for OWN. This is the first adaptation of the series outside the United States.
The series focuses on five mother-daughter duos who attempt to repair their broken relationships, supervised by Marie-Claude Barette, an experienced psychologist.
“Marie-Claude Barrette has the talent to put people at ease and the experience to tackle delicate subjects. Her professional background and her great empathy make Marie-Claude the perfect person to host this new restorative series created especially for Canal Vie viewers,” Suzane Landry, VP, content development, programming and information, Bell Media, said in a statement.
The 10, 30-minute episodes are produced by Trio Orange in collaboration with Bell Media.
