Warner Bros. Television Group chairman and CEO Channing Dungey will join the Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) premium Summit Series line-up as a keynote speaker.
Dungey oversees creative for Warner Bros. Television Group’s production activities, which includes close to 90 productions.
She is billed as the first Black executive and the first woman to lead the studio. Prior to that, she was VP of original series at Netflix and president of ABC Entertainment.
“We’re delighted to welcome back Channing Dungey as a keynote speaker,” said Jenn Kuzmyk, BANFF executive director and VP, publisher of Playback, in a statement. “Channing’s unparalleled expertise and insights are a key driver in shaping the future of the entertainment industry. She is a visionary whose impact transcends screens.”
The Summit Series offers a curated set of keynotes from the global players shaping the future of the media industry – including the previously announced CEO of Fox Entertainment, Rob Wade Past keynote speakers include Jeffrey Katzenberg, Paula Kerger, Pearlena Igbokwe, Bela Bajaria, Ted Sarandos and Maverick Carter.
This year, international financing and coproduction will be a major focus at BANFF, with the launch of the Better Together content stream. The festival will also debut Soundtrack, a new conference stream focused on music on screen. Other content focuses include technology, AI and entertainment content on social media and online platforms.
The 45th edition of BANFF will take place June 9 to 12 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alta.
