BANFF names Tubi CEO Anjali Sud as first keynote speaker for 2025

Sud will speak as part of the Banff World Media Festival's annual summit series in June.

Tubi CEO Anjali Sud (pictured) has been announced as the first keynote speaker for the Summit Series at the 2025 Banff World Media Festival (BANFF).

Sud has served as Tubi CEO since 2023, and prior to that had spent nine years at Vimeo, including six as CEO where she took the company public. Under Sud’s leadership Tubi has scaled to more than 80 million active monthly users. She also serves on the board of directors of Dolby Laboratories and as chair of the board of Change.org.

“Audiences around the globe increasingly value a premium entertainment experience that is also 100% free, fun and reflective of culture,” said Sud in a statement. “Tubi has built a large and growing fanbase by putting viewers first, and I’m excited to share our perspective at the Banff World Media Festival this year.”

“Her insights will set the tone for a dynamic and forward-looking conversation about the future of media,” said Sean Cohan, Bell Media president and chair of the board of directors at BANFF.

Jenn Kuzmyk, BANFF’s executive director and SVP, publisher of Playback, added that the festival is focused on bringing the most “innovative and exciting” business and creative minds to Banff, Alta. in June.

Additional keynotes for the 46th annual festival, which runs from June 8 to 11, will be announced over the coming months.

The BANFF Summit Series was launched in 2019. Previous speakers include Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade, Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria, Universal Animation Studios president Jeffrey Katzenberg, PBS CEO Paula Kerger and Warner Bros. Television Studios chairwoman Channing Dungey.

Last week, BANFF opened a call for submissions for five unproduced comedy scripts via a partnership with the live table read event Hot Pilot Party.
