Bell Media’s French-language channel Noovo has renewed the drama series Après le déluge for a second season.

The renewal was announced on Tuesday (Oct. 17) ahead of the season finale. The 6 x 60-minute first season debuted on Noovo on Sept. 12. The episode count for the second season was not available as of press time.

Après le déluge is written and directed by Mara Joly. It is produced by Zama Productions’ Joly and Miryam Charles, and Zone3’s Dominique Veillet and Joëlle Agathe, in collaboration with Bell Media.

The series centres on a policewoman who takes youth with troubled pasts under her wing and introduces them to mixed martial arts as a way to get their lives back on track. The second season will build on the stories of these characters who come from different communities and face complex realities, according to a news release.

The cast of Après le déluge includes Penande Estime, France Castel, Marilyse Bourke, Karl Walcott, Jean-Moïse Martin, Dominik Dagenais, Stéphane Demers and Émile Schneider.
