Nelvana Enterprises has licensed the North American home entertainment and VOD rights for Beyblade: Metal Fusion to Vivendi Entertainment.

The distribution deal for the Beyblade animated spin-off series comprises an initial 51 episodes to be released via seven DVD releases. The first DVD will go out November 9 at retail outlets in Canada and the U.S. markets.

Nelvana co-produced Beyblade: Metal Fusion with Japanese partner d-rights.

The hybrid 2D-CGI animated series features new Beyblade characters competing for dominance with their spinning tops against an evil organization, The Dark Nebula.

The Nelvana series already airs on YTV in Canada and Cartoon Network in the U.S.
