France’s Mediawan Prod has inked a deal with Montreal’s Productions J to create a French adaptation of the reality format Occupation double (pictured).
The long-running series, which currently airs on Noovo in Canada, is an elimination-style reality series where singles set out on a series of adventures together. It has aired for 17 seasons in Quebec, according to a news release, with the most recent season premiering on Sept. 10.
Occupation double is produced by Julie Snyder and Marie-Pier Gaudreault. It originally launched on TVA in 2003 and ran for seven seasons, before it moved to V in 2017. V was rebranded to Noovo in 2020 following its acquisition by Bell Media. Jay Du Temple has served as host since 2017.
Zone3
Zone3 International has signed an agreement with European distributor Wild Bunch TV, which will see the Paris- and Munich-based company represent international sales for the series Motel Paradis.
The 6 x 60-minute crime drama is produced by Véronique Jacob of Zone3. It is directed by filmmaker Sophie Deraspe (Antigone), who co-wrote with Stéphane Hogue.
Motel Paradis stars Nahéma Ricci and Stéphane Gagnon and centres on a woman who works with a retired police detective to solve her sister’s disappearance. It premiered on Club illico last October.
Amuz Distribution
Quebec City-based Amuz Distribution has secured international distribution rights, excluding Canada, to Pixcom’s comedy series Contre-offre (Counter Offer). The first three seasons of the series are available in Canada on Noovo and Crave, with a fourth season in production, according to a news release.
The distributor (formerly known as ComediHa! Distribution) will represent sales outside of Canada for all four seasons (48 x 30 minutes). Contre-offre follows a dysfunctional real estate team as they try to keep their agency afloat in the unpredictable housing market. It is produced by Martin Roy, and is based on an original concept by Marie-Chantal Nadeau and Benoit Finley.
Gusto
Gusto Worldwide Media has expanded its partnership with Amazon to bring its linear channel, Gusto TV, to Amazon’s Fire TV Channels in the U.S. The channel has been available as an ad-supported video on demand service on Fire TV since last October, according to a news release.
