NYC-based production house CreativeChaos is reteaming with Oscar-winning actor and producer Geena Davis to create a Canadian adaptation of their award-winning documentary on the #MeToo movement, This Changes Everything.
The new doc will be produced by Quebec-based Poutine Studios and Palmina Productions, in association with CreativeChaos and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, according to a news release.
Davis (pictured left) serves as an executive producer along with Debra Kouri (pictured middle) for Poutine Studios; Natasha Gargiulo (pictured right) for Palmina Productions; and Madeline Di Nonno and Kerianne Flynn, Tom Donahue and Ilan Arboleda for CreativeChaos.
This Changes Everything first premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival ahead of a theatrical release and distribution via Starz and Netflix. The doc featured numerous A-list Hollywood names —including Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, Tracee Ellis Ross, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett — discussing their personal experiences with sexism, gender discrimination and sexual harassment in the industry.
The forthcoming Canadian edition of the doc will focus on critical issues specific to the Canadian media and filmmaking industries, including gender disparity and discrimination towards and underrepresentation of women, BIPOC and other marginalized groups.
