Corus cuts 30 staffers

Despite recent growth in its radio and TV divisions, Corus Entertainment has cut 30 jobs or roughly 1% of its workforce, the company confirmed on Monday.

Those affected were in the television, radio and corporate divisions though the company would not provide further details. According to an official statement from Corus to Playback Daily, ‘these changes are part of the company’s ongoing objective to ensure the organization is structured to deliver effectively on future opportunities and positioned for long term success.’

The company recently announced that its Q3 revenue and profit were up, growth which president and CEO John Cassaday called ‘exceptional.’

More details to come.
