Vancouver-based LGBTQ+ network and streamer OUTtv has expanded the X-Rated franchise with a two-season renewal of X-Rated: NYC and the commission of X-Rated: LA.
The docuseries, produced by U.S.-based prodco Daddy TV, marks OUTtv’s first franchise expansion of its kind, according to a news release. The OUTtv original follows LGBTQ+ adult entertainment superstars’ lives behind the scenes.
The six-episode X-Rated: NYC (pictured), which premiered on the streaming platform on Sept. 27, is executive produced by Artie Davis and Topher Cusumano with a returning cast of Boomer Banks, Max Konnor, Joey Mills, and Dante Colle for season two. Production on the second season will take place in New York City in November and is slated for release in 2023.
X-Rated: LA, directed by Cusumano, will explore the world of adult entertainment in Los Angeles, with an all-new cast that is yet to be announced. The series is also slated for release in 2023.
Philip Webb, COO of OUTtv, said in a statement that “the immediate success of X-Rated: NYC, alongside other OUTtv originals, confirms our strategy of focusing on truly original, queer programming.”
Cusumano, co-founder of Daddy TV, added that they are thrilled to continue their partnership with OUTtv “to create unique sex-positive content for queer audiences.”
OUTtv has recently commissioned three Daddy TV-produced reality series and renewed Pride for a fourth season. The streamer has also partnered with Toronto’s Accessible Media Inc. for the first time to co-commission Womb Envy in September.
