Hot Sheet: Stranger Things still trumps overall TV demand

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ came in second and Prime Video's The Boys rose on both the digital originals and overall TV charts for the week of June 13 to 19.

Netflix’s original series Stranger Things (pictured) continues to dominate overall TV demand for the fifth consecutive week.

Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Winona Ryder, the sci-fi horror smash led both the top 10 digital originals and top 10 overall TV shows in Canada for the week of June 13 to 19. It was 101.3 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for that period, according to Parrot Analytics.

Directed by Toronto-born Deborah Chow, Lucasfilms’ Obi-Wan Kenobi (34.04) on Disney+ came in second on both the digital originals list and overall TV series demand. Meanwhile, Amazon Studios’ Toronto-shot The Boys (32.98) on Prime Video made both lists at No. 3.

Rounding out the digital originals list are Toronto-shot Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (24.13) at No. 4, and HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death (22.89) – available on Crave in Canada – at No. 5.

In the overall TV series demand list, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants (30.05) ranked at No. 4, and NBC’s Saturday Night Live (28.16) at No. 5.
