Variety of projects for L.T.B.
The folks at L.T.B. Productions have been keeping busy: Barry Peterson had a day as director/dop on a Unitel assignment out of Ogilvy and Mather. Through Campbell Mithun Esty, director David Hackel and dop David Makin shot two days for Puma. Hackel also teamed up with cameraman Doug Koch on a spot for Celiac Canada, also out of cme. Eugene Beck directed three days for Mattel out of o&m, Los Angeles, with Rene Ohashi as the dop. Leo Zaharatos of Chameleon Film and Video posted.
ltb also had a pool of four spots for Tiger Electronics out of Posnick and Kolker. Director David McIlvaney and Makin teamed up for three of the jobs; the fourth was directed by Vince Misiano, with brother Chris the dop.
At The Partners’ Film Company, director/dop Hobby Morrison picked up three days for a Cantel spot out of Vickers and Benson. Chris Brook was editor. Director Dale Heslip and dop Andre Pienaar teamed up on a spot for Keith’s Nova Scotia Brewery. The one-day shoot was edited by Bruce Copeman. Young and Rubicam enlisted a pair of directors for a recent kfc project: director Kari Skogland and dop George Willis teamed for a day, then Willis took on an additional day as director/dop. Editor Brant Lambermont posted both spots. Willis also donned his director/ cameraman hat to shoot two days for Bell Skyline. The spot, edited by Andy Ames, was out of Leo Burnett. Also at Partners’, director Doug Moshoian and Pienaar picked up two days for Chiat/Day and Shopper’s Drug Mart. The spot was edited by David Baxter.
Damast Gordon and Associates’ director Boris Damast recently completed four days for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s new Super 7 Lottery campaign. The spots, shot by Steve Gordon and edited by Richard Unruh at Third Floor Editing, were through McArthur Thompson and Laws, Halifax.
Director Eliza Berry of The Directors Film Company and dop Anton van Rooyen shot a psa for the Adoption Reform Coalition in Vancouver. Editor on the assignment was Brian Wells of Chameleon.
Imported Artists Film Company’s Amir Hamed had two days as director/dop for Bell Telephone out of mbl/bbdo. Unruh handled post. Hamed then flew out to Vancouver to shoot two days for B.C. Telephone out of mbl/bbdo, Vancouver.
Speaking of Vancouver, Cactus Productions’ Allen Jones was director/cameraman on a two-day assignment for Vancity out of Grey Advertising. The job, which features a wall of televisions, will be posted at Northwest Imaging.
At Apple Box Productions, Philip Spink directed spots for Manitoba Telephone Service, B.C. Hydro, and Larimi Toys, Cincinnati. The Larimi spot features a boy getting ‘sucked into’ a video game, battling 3D monsters with his air-powered dart gun. Chris Tammaro completed a pool of three spots for the B.C. Pontiac dealers out of MacLaren:Lintas, Toronto. Cosimo Zitani was in Toronto to pick up two days through mbl/bbdo for B.C. Telephone. The spots are scheduled to hit the air in b.c., Ontario and Quebec sometime in June or July. Also at Apple Box, New York-based director/dop Bobby Sheehan was in Vancouver for two days to shoot a pool of three spots for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation out of Scali McCabe Sloves.
Circle Productions’ director Fred Frame picked up two days for B.C. Agriculture. The spot, shot by Ron Orieux, was out of Wasserman Cozens Dundon. Director Robert Turner teamed up with dop Ron Williams on a day for Dairyworld and Scali McCabe Sloves, Vancouver, and two days for Balsmex through Grey Advertising. Turner also spent a day with cameraman Ward Russell on a B.C. Tel job through mbl/bbdo, Vancouver.
In Montreal, Cinelande reports new production for Sports Experts and Cossette, and Air Canada and Marketel.
James DiSalvio directed the multi-montage sports footware spot for Sports Experts, with dop Yves Belanger behind the camera. Hybride Technologies of Piedmont, Que. handled special effects and post-production. The Air Canada commercial, a French/English 30 promoting the airline’s new destinations, was shot by l.a.-based mow and feature film director Yves Simoneau and dop Guy Dufaux. The shoot took almost a full month to complete, with filming taking place in Martinique, Miami, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
At Objectif Production, Peter Svatek directed one 30-second testimonial for Ford and Young et Rubicam. The post was done by Astral and Supersuite.
At Figaro Films, new commercial action includes dates for Molson’s Black Label, Concessionaires Volkswagen and Jetta and Procter and Gamble’s Comet.
Glenn Bydwell, one of the busier directors on the Montreal commercial scene, directed and lit the set on ‘Sondages,’ a French 30 location testimonial for Comet cleanser and agency bcp. Bydwell is also the director/cinematographer on a new French 30 for General Mills’ Cheerios Multi-Grain. ‘L’Orge,’ out of agency Auger Babeux/fcb, is being shot at the Moliflex/White studio. Bydwell and Toronto-based dop James Gardner teamed on ‘Missing,’ a two-day Kellogg’s Multi-Grain nutrition bar shoot out of RTA Publicite.
Director Cosimo Cavallaro and city-hopping dop Peter Hartmann shot ‘Laveuses,’ a one-day special effects spot for Black Label and bcp. Volkswagen’s 10-year Jetta guarantee message, out of Palm Publicite Marketing, is a French 30 called ‘Long, longtemps.’ The pitch uses a comedic approach and was directed by Claude Brie. Supersuite handled post-production duties.
