Patterson helms Nutrasweet
In Vancouver, director Glenn Patterson of Eclipse Productions teamed up with dops Dale Johannsen and David Geddes on three days for Nutrasweet out of Ogilvy and Mather, Chicago.
Moving east to Toronto, Radke Films’ Wayne Gibson directed and Peter Hartmann shot two days for A&W Restaurants through bbdo, Vancouver.
At Imported Artists Film Company, director Richard D’Alessio and dop Sean Valentini hooked up for a day on a psa for Concerned Children’s Advertisers and Vickers and Benson. Gillian McCarthy of Flashcut Editing posted.
Fred Frame of Circle Productions directed a spot for Agrevo Canada and Parallel Strategies in Vancouver. Ron Williams handled camera on the one-day shoot. Robert Turner served as director/ dop for Canada Safeway stores in Vancouver through Palmer Jarvis.
Damast Gordon and Associates’ director Boris Damast scored four days for Wisk through J. Walter Thompson, with Nick Allen-Woolfe on camera. Chris Parkins of Flashcut performed editing honors. Through MacLaren Lintas, director/dop Dan Izzard picked up a couple of days for gm’s Safari. Chameleon Film and Video’s Wendy Linton was the editor and David Giles of Command Post and Transfer handled post-production special effects.
Director Bill Irish of Kessler Irish Films scored one prelight and two shoot days for Oscar Mayer through jwt’s Chicago office. John Stanier handled camera.
Avion Film Productions’ Matthew Harris directed and shot a four-day job for Sprint out of Grey, New York. Director/dop Steven Vaughan landed one prelight and four shoot days for L’Oreal through McCann, New York. George Morita doubled as director/dop on two days for Chrysler, and Tim Hamilton directed a day for Kraft, with Simon Mestel on camera. The agency was bbdo on both counts.
At Stonehenge Filmworks, director Aaron Shuster landed a day for North American Life Assurance and one for Bean Vacuums, with David Sanders handling the camera on both assignments. Shuster also teamed up with dop Bongo for a few one-day shoots with Ellen Roseman and Harlequin Romance. Shuster and dop Kim Stephenson picked up a day for Clarke Transport and Morningstar as well. All assignments were through Tasac.
In Montreal, Figaro Films director Claude Brie and dop Pierre Gill shot four French 15s for Culinar confectionery lines Meteo, Maxi-Fruits, Whippet and Avalanche. The two-day shoot was out of a reorganized Young et Rubicam and was posted at cme and Metaphor. Brie and dop J.P. Trudel shot ‘Autobus’ and ‘Florida Hotel,’ two French 30s for P’tit Quebec and Kraft. The two-day shoot originated with RTA Publicite.
Figaro director/dop Glenn Bydwell executed on the 1995 La Presse tv campaign, out of bcp, while director Martin Ouellette and cinematographer Trudel shot four 15s for Les pages jaunes and Tele-Direct. The one-day shoot was out of Tribu Lintas.
New action from La Fabrique d’Images includes a French 30 for Bell’s testimonial campaign called ‘Reception for Monsieur B,’ directed by Jean-Francois Pouliot and shot by Steve Danyluk. The two-day shoot out of Cossette Communication-Marketing was posted at Buzz. Studio Marko handled sound and Supersuite the transfer. AstralTech performed lab duties.
Director Michel Poulette and Danyluk teamed on ‘Plus de ligne,’ a family meal-for-four promotion for Restaurants Mikes out of Prisme Communications.
