Hearings delayed

The crtc has announced the next round of specialty and pay-tv service applications has been delayed from June to next January, except for applications for a French-language pay-per-view service, which will be reviewed this summer.

Also on the applications front, Battlefords Cablevision of Saskatchewan has applied to the crtc to get Country Music Television added to the list of eligible satellite services.

ACTRA ad pact

After prolonged negotiations, actra and the advertising community have signed a new two-year agreement. The deal between actra, the Association of Canadian Advertisers and the Institute of Canadian Advertising includes a fee increase for actra talent of 2% for the first year and another 2% for the second year. Negotiations have been ongoing since August when the previous one-year contract expired.
