Sullivan starts

video division

Sullivan Entertainment is establishing a new arm – Sullivan Releasing. Initially it will be involved in distributing home videos in Canada. The first release, Anne of Green Gables, is planned for late this fall. A succession of titles will be released on a monthly basis: the sequel to Anne, other Sullivan titles (films, miniseries and Road to Avonlea), and those acquired from other Canadian producers over the last few months.

Telefilm Canada distribution guru Morey Hamet has been hired as director of acquisitions and will spearhead the focus on acquiring Canadian titles for Canadian home video distribution and worldwide rights. Tanya Gallus is the new assistant director of acquisitions, coming from the investment community.

The new arm will be staffed by two senior home video people: Erica Lewis, former Columbia/ TriStar brand manager for Video One, and Dawn Madgett, formerly of e.t.d.

In other news, Sullivan is expanding its sales department with two additions. Paul Howard, formerly from the computer industry, will be director of sales, international tv and video. Sarah Clarke, formerly of Norstar, is the new international sales rep.
