The Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation approved project funding of $1.4 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1996/97. This is its largest round of funding to date.

Salter Street received funding for seven projects.

These commitments support total Nova Scotia film industry budgets and special projects of $49.3 million.

Numbers show that film production in the province is stronger. Production totals (not including guest productions) for 1993 were $7 million; $11.5 million for 1994; and $17 million in 1995. $21.5 million is the projected production total for 1996.
