Commercial Directions: L.A.’s Lyne braves -35¡ for AGT shoot

At Imported Artists, Richard D’Alessio directed three days in Chiliwack, b.c. for Molson Old Style Pilsner out of MacLaren McCann. dop was Simon Mestel and executive producer was Christina Ford. The eight spots – one 120-second, two 30s and five 15s – were edited by Mark Hajek at Partners’ Post. Music was provided by Pirate Radio and tv.

Director Stan Schofield and dop Andre Pienaar teamed up on three days for Canada Trust through Holmes Donin Alloul. Ford executive produced and line producer was Marie Robertson. Editor was Flashcut’s Bob Kennedy and David Fleury handled music.

Aviator Pictures director Steve Brook shot two days in Vancouver with dop John Houtman for the B.C Lottery Corporation. Producer was Michael Terry, editor was Debbie Tregale at Coast Mountain and Wave Productions handled sound design.

David Straiton directed one day in Winnipeg for Western Canada Lottery Corporation through Palmer Jarvis Winnipeg. dop was Ron Williams, producer was Jason Hunt and editing was handled by Flashcut. The shoot was assisted by Critical Madness.

At L.T.B. Productions, director Christopher Gentile shot two spots for Pressman Toys through New York-based Berenter, Greenhouse & Webster. dop was Ryan Master and special effects are being handled by Pete Denomme and Michael Lambermont at Calibre.

Paul Lynch directed a spot for Altamira Mutual Funds through The Wolf Group. Harry Makin was dop and Rick Morden from the Post Group edited. Director Vince Misiano and director/dop CB Harding teamed up in Toronto for Tiger Electronics through New York’s Posnick & Kolker. Makin was dop for Misiano. Post is being handled in New York.

Director Bill Linsman was shooting for p&g in Toronto with Makin through dmb&b. Marty Kravshick at Reel ideas was editor.

Maxx Productions’ Dan Hackett will be directing three spots for Canada Games through bcp. dop is Gabor Tarko and post is being handled by Barry Farrell at Smash.

Circle Productions director Robert Turner will shoot two days with dop Ron Williams and actor Leslie Nielsen for BC Lottery through Bryant, Fulton & Shee.

Louis Lyne recently directed three days for AGT Telus through O&M Calgary, with Houtman on board as dop. The l.a.-based Lyne remained in his element, even though temperatures on location in Vancouver and Calgary fell to -35 C.

At Kessler Irish Films, director Ron Baxter Smith shot two days with dop Pienaar for McNeil Consumer Products’ Tylenol Flu through Saatchi & Saatchi. Executive producer was Ron Grittani and Third Floor’s Alex Eaton edited.

David Wellington directed three days for Molson’s Stork through MacLaren McCann. dop was Sean Valentini, executive producer was Jane Kessler and Chameleon’s Leo Zaharatos edited.

Director David Strupp and Valentini shot one day for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario’s Multi-million Dollar Lottery through smw. Grittani executive produced and Eaton edited.

comm.bat films director/dop Steve Gordon shot two days for CI Mutual Funds through Harrod & Mirlin. Executive producer was Susi Patterson and Eaton edited.

At Magic, director/dop Derek Case is shooting a half day for kfc through o&m.

Avion director Mark Story and dop Mestel shot two days for Neilson Dairy through Bensimon Byrne. House producer was Paola Lazzeri and agency producer was Marie Robertson. Daily Post’s Chris Van Dyke edited.

Ray Dillman directed one day for Van De Camps with dop George Morita through Eisner & Associates, Wisconsin.

In the Jan. 13 Commercial Directions, Brant Lambermont of Partners’ Post was listed as editor on a Jeff Jones-directed Colgate spot. The editing credit should have gone to David Baxter at Panic & Bob.
