Vancouver: Pacific Motion Pictures, a division of Rainmaker Entertainment Group since July, is finally exploiting its exclusive Canadian distribution and licensing agreement with Hallmark Entertainment, a major American producer of television product.
From the slate of upcoming Hallmark releases, pmp will supply ctv with 10 mows by the end of 1999. The first tv movie in this agreement was Rear Window, a psychological thriller starring Christopher Reeve and Daryl Hannah, which aired on ctv Nov. 22.
For the cbc in the 1998/99 season, pmp will license 13 hours of television from Hallmark’s new releases Alice in Wonderland, Noah’s Ark, Cleopatra and Animal Farm.
As Canadian agent, pmp receives an agency fee of 15% of the gross sale price of each project – the first substantial revenues generated by pmp since the acquisition by Rainmaker.
