According to reliable sources, director David Cronenberg’s new film eXistenZ has been invited to premier in official competition at the Berlin Film Festival.

Some officials at the films’ producer Alliance Atlantis Communications claimed to have no knowledge of the invite, while others did not return phone calls seeking confirmation.

Playback has learned that Epitome Pictures’ Riverdale has been picked up for another season on cbc and Sullivan Entertainment’s Wind At My Back for an additional two cycles. Slawko Klymkiw, executive director of network programming, would not confirm the report, saying he will not announce any renewals until all of cbc’s fall schedule has been finalized, which is expected in the next two weeks.
