Groupe TVA and screenwriters guild sardec have signed a first collective agreement covering writers working on teleromans and tv dramas and other programs produced in-house at tva.

The two-year deal covers the period from Dec. 1, 1998 to Nov. 30, 2000, fixing salary minimums, various ‘status of author’ issues including on-air credit representation, development, refusal and rewriting, and rebroadcast issues. The agreement took two years to finalize and was signed by sardec president Suzanne Aubry and Marleen Beaulieu, vp at tva production affiliateJPL Productions.
