Rainmaker shakes up management

Vancouver: A senior management shakeup at Vancouver’s Rainmaker Entertainment Group means ceo Bob Cabral has left ‘to pursue other interests’ and executive vp Tony Allard will leave June 30.

Official reasons from the company for the change are not forthcoming.

However, market analyst Jason Zandberg at Vancouver’s Pacific International Securities says that because three of the past four quarters at Rainmaker have been disappointing, the market was demanding some change.

‘Bob Cabral is a bit of a scapegoat,’ says Zandberg. ‘A lot of Rainmaker’s problems were blamed on him as ceo. But the market is still cautious, still waiting to see the company have a decent quarter.’

Among the ‘problems’ have been the expansion of Rainmaker’s l.a. division, which has struggled in the lackluster market in l.a., resulting in higher expenses and lower revenues for the company.
