Odd Squad assembles for season three

PBS Kids has picked up the upcoming third season of the Sinking Ship and Fred Rogers copro to air in winter 2020.

U.S.-based prodco Fred Rogers Productions and Toronto’s Sinking Ship Entertainment are producing a third season of Odd Squad.

Set to air on PBS Kids in winter 2020, the new 20 x 22-minute episodes follow a group of secret agent kids who travel across the world and use math and science to fight odd occurrences.

Targeted at kids four-to-eight years old, the live-action series also airs in Canada on TVO Kids (English) and SRC (French). Created by Tim McKeon (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Adventure Time) and Adam Peltzman (The Electric Company, The Backyardigans), the series garnered seven Daytime Emmy nominations, including outstanding children’s or family viewing series.

Odd Squad won a number of awards at Wednesday night’s Creative Fiction Storytelling gala at the Canadian Screen Awards, including best direction in an animation and children’s or youth fiction series.
