Vancouver: Funding agency British Columbia Film supported 79 b.c. film and television projects in fiscal 2000 (ended March 31) representing $4.2 million.
Eleven series including Da Vinci’s Inquest, Cold Squad, Scoop and Doozie and Champions of the Wild received funding and 10 broadcast singles/documentaries were funded including Britannia, The Saint Soldier and Stopping Traffik.
Marine Life and On the Nose were the only features to receive funding.
Also, 44 projects received script development assistance valued at $339,000.
Eleven projects received $998,000 through the old Market Incentive Program, which closed in November1998.
According to the provincial government, domestic production comprises 28% of the overall b.c. industry.
