eOne taps Zev Foreman to lead film production in L.A.

Foreman, whose production credits include Jean-Marc Vallee's Dallas Buyers Club and Nacho Vigalondo's Colossal, will oversee development and production on eOne's global slate.

zev foreman piceOne has hired former Voltage Pictures head Zev Foreman as its president of film production in L.A.

In the position, Foreman, whose production credits include Jean-Marc Vallée’s Dallas Buyers Club and Nacho Vigalondo’s Colossal, will oversee the development and production of eOne’s global slate of film projects. He will report to eOne’s recently appointed president of film, Nick Meyer.

“Zev’s industry experience and understanding of where the global filmed entertainment marketplace is going will be a key component as we continue to expand our film financing and producing footprint,” said Meyer in a statement.

In addition to spending eight years as president of L.A.’s Voltage Pictures, Foreman also served as a director at film financier Grosvenor Park, working on projects including Oscar-winner The Hurt Locker and Ed Zwick’s Defiance.

News of Foreman’s hire comes two months after eOne acquired the remaining stake in Hollywood-based production, sales and finance company Sierra Pictures, which is headed up by Meyer and co-principal Marc Schaberg. With that deal, eOne tapped Meyer as president of film and Schaberg as EVP, film and global operations.

Earlier in the year the global studio appointed Mark Gordon president and chief content officer of film, television and digital, with former CAA exec Peter Micelli joining as chief strategy officer of film, television and digital media a month later.

Among the projects on eOne’s film slate are André Øvredal-directed Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which is currently shooting in Toronto. Producers on the project include Guillermo del Toro and his frequent collaborator J. Miles Dale.
