Discovery preps Alberta flood doc

Produced by Montreal's Pixcom Productions, the doc marks the fifth anniversary of the natural disaster.

Discovery has added Alberta Floods: Rogue Earth to its summer lineup.

Produced by Montreal’s Pixcom Productions for Discovery, the doc revisits southern Alberta’s 2013 super flood using cellphone and never-before-seen footage to tell first-hand stories of the event. The flood resulted in an estimated $6 billion in damages, five fatalities and displaced over 100,000 people.

Alberta Floods marks the fifth anniversary of the natural disaster and is set to premiere on June 17 at 9 p.m.

Producers on the doc include Pixcom’s president Nicola Merola and series producer Manu Wiecha. Discovery’s Bruce Glawson serves as an exec producer on the project.

This is the third doc in the Rogue Earth series. Previous docs include Fort Mac Wildfire: Rogue Earth (2017) and Tornadoes: Rogue Earth (2017).
