Production is underway in Vancouver on writer/director Sara Beth Edwards’ feature Fall Back Down.
The Travelers writer has previously directed short films Salty and Creep. Fall Back Down marks her feature directorial debut.
Produced by her Kiss Off Entertainment, the romantic comedy follows two garment factory employees who investigate a coworker’s untimely disappearance. It stars Andrew Dunbar (Dragged Across Concrete), Aadila Doasani (Reverie), slam poet and playwright Omari Newton and Joe Keithley, front man of Canadian punk band D.O.A.
Producers on the film are Rachelle Bencze and Andrew Dunbar, with Ziad Touma (Incendies) and Chris Moore (Manchester By the Sea), exec producing.
Edwards first linked up with Moore last year when he selected her screenplay Nowhere as the winner of the Idaho-based Sun Valley Film Festival’s High Scribe Award. As the winner, Edwards received one-on-one mentorship from Moore. That project is now being developed for television.
Fall Back Down is a recipient of Telefilm’s Talent to Watch funding.
