1991: Maclean Hunter Television Fund established by Maclean Hunter with an endowment of $29.2 million
1992: Cogeco Program Development Fund established by Cogeco under the administration of the MHTV Fund
1993: IPF receives its first recoupment cheque
1994: Rogers acquires Maclean Hunter
1996: Maclean Hunter Television Fund renamed the Independent Production Fund
1997: Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund established by Bell Canada and administered by the IPF
1998: IPF funding hits the $25-million mark
1999: First series to recoup 100% of its investment (LEXX)
2000: CRTC certifies IPF as an ‘independent production fund’ eligible to receive BDU contributions
