OUTtv greenlights three series

Eyes in the Woods, the scripted series from Calgary’s Numera Films, is among the commissions.

Vancouver-based television and streaming service OUTtv has greenlit three new series, including the 8 x 12-minute Eyes in the Woods from Calgary’s Numera Films.

The scripted series follows two sisters who collect a series of clues that lead them towards the truth about a mysterious glowing pair of eyes. Eyes in the Woods is written by Alanna Schwartz (Abracadavers) and Morgan Ermter (Summer’s Monster) and produced by Griffin Cork (Cardfight!! Vanguard), Kenya Weaver (Hudson) and Cayley Ermter (Crow).

Next is the 6 x 30-minute DIY Dungeon from U.S. prodco Daddy TV. The renovation series follows adult performer Joey Mills as he transforms his basement into a BDSM playspace.

The last original commission is the 8 x 15-minute thriller Laid Bare, from U.S. producers Tim O’Leary, Robert Rice and Cara Salmeri. The series follows 10 men who receive a mysterious invitation to a gay nude resort, only for guests to start turning up dead.

OUTtv announced a second season of the 6 x 30-minute drama Cam Boy (Isolatary 2 Pictures), created by American-Canadian Thom Fitzgerald (The Event), who returns as director for season two. The first season was greenlit in August 2020, and OUTtv initially greenlit a second season in July 2021. The four-year wait was attributed to a “large delay” for the series going into production, an OUTtv spokesperson told Playback Daily.

The series follows a young gay man in Nova Scotia who turns to performing for internet cam sex sites. Returning stars include Callum Dunphy (Sex & Violence), Julien Galipeau (Rupture) and David Light (Diggstown).

OUTtv also renewed the reality tv mockumentary series Drag House Rules (pictured) from Producer Entertainment Group for season two.

“Our new and returning titles showcase the range and depth of LGBTQ+ creativity, from murder mysteries and competing queens to renovations and open relationships,” said OUTtv COO Phillip Webb in a statement. “Every series we greenlight reflects a facet of queer life that deserves to be seen and celebrated, and we’re thrilled to bring both returning favourites and exciting new voices to our audiences around the world.”
