Production is currently underway in Vancouver on eight-part digital series NarcoLeap.
Produced by Vancouver’s KGP Films, the series follows a young narcoleptic woman who discovers that during her lucid dreams she’s commandeering the bodies of real people across the world. Episodes range in length from eight to 15 minutes.
Filming will continue through February, with an anticipated release on Telus Optik TV and on NarcoLeap’s YouTube channel slated for July.
The series was co-created by executive producer and director Kate Green, principal of KGP Films. The story concept was developed through Women in the Director’s Chair’s Story and Leadership program. Producers on the project are Emily Keller and Ross Vivian. David Schmidt wrote all eight episodes for the series.
NarcoLeap stars Chelsey Reist (The 100) in the lead role. She’s joined on screen by Aleks Paunovic (Van Helsing), Nicole Oliver (Wonder), Madison Smith (Aftermath) and Austin Eckert (The Flash).
Funding for the project was provided by the Independent Production Fund, Telus Storyhive and Creative B.C.
