IFC says yes to more Baroness

Season three of the all-female sketch comedy series is currently in production.

AMC Networks-owned IFC has acquired season three of Baroness von Sketch Show.

The network acquired the first two seasons of the series from Banijay Rights in May, and aired both back-to-back this summer.

CBC greenlit a third season of the all-female sketch comedy series in September. The 10-part, half-hour show, produced by Frantic Films, will wrap production in November, with and air date set for the pubcaster and IFC in 2018.

Baroness von Sketch Show is executive produced by Frantic’s Jamie Brown, and writers/stars Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Jennifer Whalen. Taylor also serves as showrunner. The series is distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.

“The ladies have set a high bar as the first and only all-female sketch comedy troupe that also writes, produces and stars in their own show, so we are especially proud to bring their third season to the IFC audience which has clearly demonstrated they want more,” said IFC president Jennifer Caserta in a statements.
