Toronto’s A71 Entertainment has picked up Adam Garnet Jones’ sophomore feature, Great Great Great.
A71 will release the film theatrically through the Canadian Indie Film Series, the distributor’s partnership with Landmark Cinemas that screens Canadian indies on the first Wednesday of a month. Making its theatrical debut on Oct. 4, the film will screen 16 Landmark theatres across western Canada and Ontario, including Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Ottawa. Great Great Great will then be released on Oct. 6 in Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Whitby, with additional screenings throughout October.
Directed by Jones, who also served as a producer alongside Sarah Kolasky, the film had its premiere at the Canadian Film Fest, where it picked up the best feature award, best screenplay and best performance in a film for lead star Kolasky. It will screen next at the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival on Sept. 21.
Great Great Great is a dark comedy about a woman in a perfectly fine relationship who finds herself hungry for something better – though she’s not sure exactly what that really means. Jones’ debut feature Fire Song premiered at TIFF, and later won the audience award at ImagineNATIVE.
