NSI, Global partner

The Winnipeg-based National Screen Institute has issued a call for entries from Canadian film and television producers for the new NSI Global Marketing Program 2003, in partnership with the Global Television Network. The partners have upped their funding commitments and revised the curriculum for the program under the guidance of program manager Mickey Rogers.

The new program will be handled in three phases. Step one will involve an applicant skills assessment, project marketing research and marketing material assignments from Rogers. Upon completion of phase one, participants will be involved in a rigorous training regime at the Toronto International Film Festival, mingling and working with mentors and broadcasters (the tab for airfare and accommodations will be picked up by NSI). The final phase will involve a trip to MIPCOM for networking purposes, with some expenses being covered by NSI.

The deadline for applications (which are available through the NSI website, www.nsi-canada.ca/global) is June 23. The program will kick off in July.

Additional CFFF deadline

Following consultations with the industry, Telefilm Canada has decided to add a new national deadline of June 23 for the Canada Feature Film Fund for English-language selective envelope projects requesting $1 million or more.
