Cardinal is headed to Hulu after the Toronto-based global studio eOne signed a multi-series licensing deal with the SVOD.

Produced by Sienna Films and eOne in association with CTV, the six-episode first season of the detective drama will be available in the U.S. on June 16. CTV has ordered two more seasons of the show, which was a hit with critics and has sold internationally to Canal+ in France, BBC Four in the U.K., and other global broadcasters.

The series is executive produced by Julia Sereny and Jennifer Kawaja for Sienna Films. Showrunner Aubrey Nealon also served as an exec producer on the first season, which was directed by Daniel Grou, aka Podz.

All told, Hulu has acquired U.S. streaming rights to more than 240 hours of eOne content, including ICF Films and eOne’s Saving Hope. The fifth and final season of the hour-long medical drama is currently airing on CTV. ION Television in the U.S. has broadcast rights to the series, exec produced by Ilana Frank, John Morayniss, Linda Pope and showrunner Adam Pettle, and co-executive produced by Noelle Carbone, Patrick Tarr, Jocelyn Hamilton, and Sonia Hosko.

Also heading to the streamer is 2009 animated comedy The Dating Guy, produced by marblemedia and Blueprint Entertainment (which was acquired by eOne in 2008).

Other series included in the deal are the U.K. comedy Gap Year, Welcome to Sweden and Matador.
