Sinking Ship’s 4Player in the works at Corus

The Toronto-based children's producer has inked a development deal for its single-camera sitcom, created by Vivieno Caldinelli and Mark De Angelis.

Toronto’s Sinking Ship has inked a development deal with Corus Entertainment for the half-hour comedy series 4Player.

The single-camera sitcom, created by Vivieno Caldinelli and Mark De Angelis, follows a group of teenagers that excel when it comes to video games but not so much in other aspects of life. The series is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds.

Caldinelli and Mark De Angelis have previously worked with Sinking Ship on the Daytime Emmy-winning series Odd Squad. Caldinelli has also directed on four seasons of CBC series This Hour Has 22 Minutes and YTV’s Bruno and Boots: Go Jump in the Pool, which is produced by Toronto’s Aircraft Pictures.

Most recently, Sinking Ship launched a licensing and merchandising department to develop the company’s merchandising strategies. As well, last February, the company also announced its acquisition of Picture Box Distribution.
