Proper TV’s Last Stop Garage lands in Labrador

Currently in production, the unscripted series will air in both Canada and the U.S. later this year.

Filming is underway in Labrador on Proper Television’s latest unscripted series Last Stop Garage (12 x 30 minutes).

The show will premiere in late 2017 on Bell Media’s Discovery channel and on U.S. net Velocity, which is owned by Discovery Communications in the U.S.

Proper Rights is representing the series globally and will begin shopping the series to buyers at international markets in fall 2017.

Set in North West River, Labrador, which has a population 499 people, Last Stop Garage follows CRB Automotive, the only auto repair shop in the area, as it services zambonis, snow blowers, airplanes, ATVs, snowmobiles and dump trucks.

The series is executive produced by Proper’s Guy O’Sullivan and Allison Grace, while Jay Armstrong serves as series producer.

The news comes one week after the announcement that another of Proper’s television series, Tougher Than it Looks?had been renewed for a second season. The Andrew Younghusband-hosted series is currently in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin later this month.

CBC also announced Thursday that the docuseries True North Calling, which Proper produced for the broadcaster’s Canada 150 programming slate, is set to bow on Friday, Feb. 17 at 8:30 p.m. The six-part series was filmed in The Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut.
